Izzy and Freya Join Sussex U15s in ECB National County Championship Finals

On Wednesday 22 August, Bede’s pupils Izzy Atherton (Lower Fifth) and Freya Kemp (First Year), both in Crossways House, travelled to Grantham for the ECB National County Championship Finals against Yorkshire. Sussex came in runners-up after a 104-run defeat, making Sussex the second-best U15s Girls Cricket team in the country.

Sussex Head Coach, Ian Cox, said, “Despite not winning the final the girls have done Sussex proud, to win their league, reach finals day is an achievement in itself.”

Alan Wells, Director of Cricket at Bede’s, added, “We are incredibly proud of Izzy and Freya, who are proving to be ‘ones to watch’ on the cricket pitch at a very early stage of their sporting careers. We look forward to welcoming them back to School this week, and I’m sure we will see great things from them in training and in matches throughout the next season and beyond.”
