Eloise Eyre Plays for ISFA England Team
Upper Fifth pupil Eloise Eyre is celebrating an exciting international football debut.
On Sunday 4 February, Eloise travelled to Edinburgh to play for the England ISFA side in their match against Scotland, with England coming away with a 4-0 victory and Eloise being awarded her first international cap.
Eloise, who has been playing football since the age of 4, trains five times a week as part of the Brighton & Hove Albion squad, and was part of the Bede’s ISFA U18 Girls Cup winning team in April last year.
Eloise says, “It was fantastic to play for the ISFA England team against Scotland last weekend; there was a great atmosphere, and we played really well as a team. To receive my first international cap is very exciting, and I look forward to playing more ISFA matches in the near future. I hope to pursue a career in professional football when I leave school.”
David Byrne, Director of Sport at Bede’s, adds, “Eloise works very hard on and off the pitch and shows true dedication and passion for the sport. We are incredibly proud of all of her achievements to date, and know that we will see a lot more from her in the years to come.”
