Bede’s Pupil Joe Sarro Makes Sussex 2nd XI Cricket Debut

It has been an exciting few weeks for Lower Sixth pupil Joe Sarro.

Joe has been in the Sussex pace bowling group for the last two years and has continued to impress over the winter.

At the start of the season, Joe was invited to bowl at the professionals, which saw him selected to play in 2nd XI friendlies where he took 5-27. Joe then made his Sussex 2nd XI debut the following week.

In the last two years, five pupils at Bede’s have played for the Sussex 2nd XI. Bede’s alumnus Joe Billings recently made his first class debut taking six catches and joins an ever-increasing list of alumni to play first class cricket.

Cricket Coach James Kirtley said of Joe’s achievements, “It has been very rewarding to see Joe’s development at both Bede’s and Sussex in the Pace Bowling Group. He has made excellent progress over the last year and this is testament to Joe’s hard work in all his games and training. I am looking forward to seeing him bowl this summer.”
