Dorms House

Dorms is a Boys' Boarding House which occupies what was originally a row of six artisan's cottages.

The young men of Dorms are most famous for their sporting achievements, with many alumni of the House now competing professionally at local and national level. Sport is far from the whole story at Dorms however, as we also boast some of the schools most able academic scholars and artists.

Some of the defining characteristics of Dorms boys are their love of difference, team spirit and dedication to hard work.

We like to think that the young men who make up the Dorms family are shining examples of Bede's progressive philosophy, with each of our residents striving for a specialism, a talent unique to them which our tutors work tirelessly to develop.

In recent years we have seen members of Dorms go on to scholarships at film schools, play rugby for England and to a diversity of the very top tier universities.

It is a testament to the boys that live here that they will always help one another to shine. They are ever supportive and are always pushing each other towards new successes.

Some examples of the recent achievements of the young men of Dorms can be found on this page. Others can be found in the local and national press.
