About The Health and Wellbeing Centre
The Senior School has renamed the Medical Centre as the Health and Wellbeing Centre. The team comprises Trust Head of Nursing, Lead School Nurse, School Nurse, School Nurse Assistant and Medical Administrator.
The Health and Wellbeing Centre is an integral part of school life at Bede's Senior School. It occupies its own building on the campus, located opposite Knights and Crossways Houses in Stud Yard.
The Health and Wellbeing Centre provides emergency care, first aid, health screening and the assessment and management of minor illness and injury.
We see over 100 pupils each week with a wide range of injuries and ailments and also support pupils with their emotional wellbeing.
It is the aim of the Health and Wellbeing Team to provide a friendly, efficient and professional service to all pupils and staff who need the services of the centre.
The nursing team are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and care for all day and boarding pupils at Bede's Senior School.
The team also supports the Trust-wide Summer School, including our sites at Brighton, Lancing, Handcross, Vinehall and Windlesham schools.
We now also welcome the School Doctors from Hailsham Medical Group and Dr Reynolds and Dr Chan share responsibility as the School GP.
They run surgeries twice a week alongside providing referrals to and liaising with counsellors, opticians, dentists, podiatrists, paediatricians, sleep clinics and child and adolescent health services.
We also work closely with dieticians, eating disorder services, substance misuse teams, children's social care, targeted youth support and children's community nursing teams.
Our door is always open and we pride ourselves on offering a first class service which is second to none.
