Every year, each of Bede's ten Houses select a charity which they will support throughout the Academic Year.
Once these House Charities have been identified, Housemasters, Housemistresses, Prefects and Bedians of every stripe set about thinking of ways to raise money and awareness for each of these worthy causes.
Aside from each House having a Charity Week during the Autumn and Spring Terms, each House is at liberty to set about raising awareness and resources in any way they see fit, whether that be by hosting Quiz Nights, dressing up in ridiculous costumes, writing songs to order, selling home-made cakes or any other madcap scheme they might dream up!
The Houses' chosen charities for this year are:
Chestnut Tree House for Bloomsbury
Rockinghorse for Camberlot
St Wilfred's Hospice for Charleston
Beachy Head Chaplaincy for Crossways
Chailey Heritage School for Deis
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust for Dicker
Demelza for Dorms
The Honeypot Children's Charity for Dorter
To find out if you can do more to help support our House Charities, please contact the respective Housemaster or Housemistress or the Chaplain.
