Fire Safety Technician

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Fire Safety Technician, working at both our Senior & Prep School. 

In this role, you will undertake Fire Safety checks and tests in accordance to our Fire Safety policies and procedures, be proactive to address any areas of non conformity and fire risk in order to ensure compliance with the Fire Safety Legislation. 

As part of the role, you will be responsible for undertaking allocated Fire Safety checks and testing of equipment such as weekly fire alarm tests, emergency lighting tests, escape route checks, and extinguisher visual inspections, undertaking any appropriate remedial action in line with the Trust guidelines. You will assist with the running and review of fire drills across the Trust to ensure full compliance and understanding of Fire Safety procedures, as well as providing onsite expert advice to staff on Fire Safety matters, referring all queries outside areas of authority to the Trust Health and Safety Compliance Manager. You will help to ensure that managers and staff understand the implications of the work they are doing and their duty to ensure it is undertaken in a fire safe and compliant manner. 

The dynamic school environment means that you will need to demonstrate high levels of flexibility and co-operative working, as well as being well organised and having strong interpersonal skills, as you will need to communicate and work alongside many different areas of the school. 

This role is Permanent, working 10 hours per week, preferably on a Thursday and Friday, however, this could be negotiated.

Hourly rate of pay: £10.90.
