We received a lovely update from a mother of three Bede's pupils - Emily Aldred who was a pupil from September 1994 - July 2005, James and Matthew Aldred who were pupils from September 1994 - July 2007.

Emily has been married to Ben Lucas for almost 12 years.  He is a curate in Angmering.  Emily trained as a Primary School Teacher and taught locally for a while.  She has just completed an MA in Theology whilst also being fully involved in the life of the church and bringing up their two daughters, Elianah (who will be 8 on Christmas Day, and Bethany (Betty) who turned 6 in October. In her spare time, she enjoys cycling and running.

James has recently married Sarah and they live in Eastbourne.  After teaching at International Schools in Cobham and Lausanne, he worked with the Refugee Youth Service in Calais and is now working with the Enthum Foundation which provides a safe and sustainable home to 16-18 years old seeking asylum in Eastbourne.  This summer he ran the South Downs Way 100 from Winchester to Eastbourne in just over 20 hours raising money for Enthum Foundation and Kingdom Way Trust.

Matthew has lived and worked in the US for a number of years and is engaged to Maria.  He is a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the men's basketball team at Furman University in South Carolina. In October 2020 he underwent open heart surgery.  This Marathon, one of two he ran recently, marked a milestone in his journey back to full fitness.
