Bede's Prep School
Bede's Prep School, established in 1895 with just four boys, provides education from Nursery (3 months) through to Year 8. In 1902, the school relocated to its impressive cliff-top site above Beachy Head, offering breathtaking sea views and bordering South Downs National Park.
Bede's Prep boasts a distinguished list of alumni, including Eddie Izzard and Nicky Henson. Recent developments include a new Sports Hall, swimming pool, astro pitch, and dining room.
Leigh-Anne Morris, Bede's Prep Head says, "Our kind-hearted community is underpinned by generosity of spirit, mutual respect, warmth and compassion. By providing a festival of opportunities, we enable our pupils to discover new passions and develop new talents motivating them to be the best versions of themselves."
Bede's Senior School
Bede's Senior School serves pupils from Year 9 to Year 13 (Sixth Form) and was established in 1978 by Mr. Peter Pyemont, building on the success of the Prep School. Located in the rural village of Upper Dicker, the school is set within over 100 acres of the picturesque Sussex Downs National Park.
Since its founding, Bede’s Senior School has expanded from 23 to approximately 800 pupils, making it one of the fastest-growing independent schools in the 20th century. Recent developments include a new Animal Management Unit, a Sports Complex, and five boarding houses.
The school encourages a community of discovery, helping pupils develop their interests and forge lasting friendships.
Peter Goodyer, Bede's Senior School Headmaster comments, "By presenting our pupils with the prospect of innovation, exploration and experimentation, all the while championing choice at every turn, we imbue each Bedian with the confidence to say that they excel at those things which they value most."
