Welcome to Bede's. We are a co-educational, independent, day and boarding school based in Sussex. Bede's offer places from pupils aged just 3 months to 18 years through our Nursery, Prep School, Senior School and Sixth Form. Bede's has two beautiful sites - the Preparatory School, which is by the sea in Eastbourne and the Senior School, in the heart of the Sussex countryside.

Bede's Prep School
Our Prep School, in Eastbourne, offers education from three months (Nursery) through to Year 9, where pupils move onto the Senior School. Bede's Prep was founded in 1895 with a roll of just four boys. In 1902, it moved to it's current premises, which is nestled on a cliff top above Beachy Head. We are lucky to be accompanied by stunning views of the sea and sharing a border with South Downs National Park.
Over it's century of existence, the Prep School has seen a number of notable alumni through it's doors, including Eddie Izzard and Nicky Henson. In recent years, there have been many developments to the site including the construction of a new Sports Hall, a swimming pool, an astro and a new dining room.

Bede's Senior School
Bede's Senior School, based in Upper Dicker, offers education from Year 9 until Year 13 (Sixth Form). Bede's Senior School was founded in 1978, following the success of the Prep School. It is based in the heart of the countryside and surrounded by over 100 acres of Sussex Downs National Park.
Since it's establishment in 1979, the Senior School has grown rapidly from just 23 pupils to today's roll of approximately 800. It is one of the most successful independent schools of the 20th Century. Recent developments have been a new Sports Complex, Animal Management Unit and five new boarding houses.
Bede's Senior School community encourages pupils to develop lasting friendships, achieve their potential and develop their talents. Every pupil's learning experience is tailored to their passions.
