Health and Wellbeing

The Health and Wellbeing Centre at Bede's Prep, situated in the main school, is an intergal part of school life.

The team is comprised of the Lead School Nurse, supported by a School Nurse and School Nurse Assistant and the Health and Wellbeing Centre is an integral part of school life.

Our philosophy is to provide high quality, specialist, innovative and inspirational healthcare that is responsive to the needs of the school community and, more importantly is pupil centred.

The nursing team is responsible for the welfare and wellbeing of all the infants and children, both in nursery and in the main school.

The Health and Wellbeing staff operate an on call service ensuring that nursing support can be provided 24 hours a day for boarders at the Prep School.

Services offered by the team include provision of advice for parents, health and wellbeing assessments, support with the management of chronic conditions, the development of health care plans, daily surgeries and drop in clinics, first aid, immunisations, administration of medication, assessment and treatment of sports injuries and liaison with teaching staff.

We have a close relationship with Arlington GP Practice in Eastbourne, providing medical care for our boarders when required. We work closely with counsellors, opticians, dentists, podiatrists and paediatricians.

The nursing staff are keen to promote close links with children’s parents and guardians and are always available to discuss any issues of concern in relation to their child’s health and wellbeing.

Good communication between nursing staff, welfare officers, matrons, teachers and parents ensures that children at Bede's benefit from holistic, compassionate care.

Our door is always open and we pride ourselves on offering a service which is second to none. The Centre's opening times are as follows:

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 8am - 5.30pm
Wednesday and Friday: 8am - 4.30pm
