Bede's
Art and Design: Prep Pupils Create Hero Stamps
Rachael Armitage, Head of Art

Pupils from Reception to Year 8 have been very busy discussing what makes a hero of the Coronavirus pandemic, and who they would like to see as a design on a stamp.

We have talked about Captain Sir Tom Moore, NHS staff, teachers, refuse collectors, cleaning staff, emergency services, delivery drivers, supermarket workers, public transport workers, vaccine scientists, military personnel and food bank volunteers - all of whom have worked tirelessly to keep the country moving.

During Art lessons, the children have been designing their own stamps and will enter a competition! Her Majesty The Queen will approve the winning stamp designs before they are printed and issued.
