Bede's
Pupils Give Generously to Local Christmas Charity Appeals
David Newberry, Deputy Head

Bede's Prep pupils, families and staff have been getting into the festive spirit by donating to a range of local charity Christmas appeals.

Many thanks to all for your generous contributions!

More Radio Christmas Toy Appeal

Harrison (Year 1) and Dylan (Year 3) said, “We are very fortunate to go an amazing school with great facilities. We all get to go home to nice homes and take for granted there will be presents under the Christmas tree this year. Not all children are as lucky as us and many may not get presents for Christmas.

“If you (or your parents) want to donate a new unwrapped present I know they would be greatly appreciated.”

The appeal has been very well supported with the collection basket ending up nearly overflowing.

Warming Up the Homeless Give a Gift Bag Appeal

Scarlet (Year 8 prefect) wrote to children and parents to share stories of families and individuals for whom Covid-19 has resulted in homelessness.

She asked for donations to the Give a Gift Bag appeal where Bede’s Prep families fill a Christmas gift bag with a selection of essential items from a supplied list, a treat or two, plus a Christmas card written to the recipient. These donations will be distributed to those in need across Eastbourne by Warming Up The Homeless.
