Bede's
Pippa's Artwork is Displayed in Eastbourne Parks
Rachael Armitage, Head of Art

Following last year’s Great Park Clean, which saw hundreds of our pupils clear rubbish from parks and beaches in the local area, Plastic Free Eastbourne launched a schools campaign to design a poster for our parks asking for people to take their rubbish home with them.

The entries were judged by three local artists and the winning pupils were selected. Metal versions were made of the 10 winning pictures, which have been attached to the exit signboards of the parks.

Pippa (pictured) came third place overall and her design has been printed on metal signs and is displayed in 12 parks around the town. She was presented by the Mayor of Eastbourne, Steve Wallis, with her certificate and a prize of a £50 voucher to spend at WHSmiths before lockdown.

Pippa’s design won in the Bede’s Prep prizes, Max (Year 5) came second place, Zak and Zac (both Year 6) came third place, with each of them winning a certificate and reusable water bottle.
