Year 7 and 8
Years 7 and 8 (typically ages 11 to 13) represent one of the most critical phases in a child's education. Far from just being "middle years," this stage acts as a psychological and academic bridge that sets the trajectory for the rest of a pupil's life. During these years our aim is to support pupils as they become more independent, guiding them so that they can manage their own homework schedules and take on further responsibilities.
Year 7
Year 7 focuses on developing independence, organisation and study skills as pupils begin preparing for future exams and senior school transition.
Pupils are encouraged to embrace co-curricular opportunities, while strong pastoral care, buddy support, trips and team-building activities help build confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging.
Year 8
Year 8 is a key stage of the prep school journey, with many pupils taking on leadership roles and greater responsibilities within the school community.
Alongside preparation for exams and scholarships, pupils benefit from excellent pastoral support, enrichment opportunities and trips, culminating in the Leavers’ Programme to celebrate and prepare them for the next stage of education.
