St Bede’s School Trust, Sussex is a registered charity which provides co-educational day and boarding education at its preparatory, senior and summer schools.
The charity welcomes children of varied abilities and aims to enable each student to achieve to the best of their ability; fee remission through scholarships and bursaries are provided to students with special talents or needs so that they may benefit from the opportunities offered by Bede’s Prep and Senior Schools.
St Bede’s School Trust, Sussex provides benefits to the local and wider community in a number of ways:
Bursaries and Assisted Places
The Trust invests considerable resources and time in the awarding of its bursaries and ensuring that, as far as it is able, the benefits of a Bede’s education are as accessible as possible to those who do not have the means to pay full fees.
State School Partnerships
The Schools’ facilities are used extensively throughout the year for the benefit of outside organisations and the local community, particularly local state schools. We have particularly close links with Park Mead School, in the village of Upper Dicker where the Senior School is located; the pupils use facilities such as our science labs and swimming pool on a regular basis and our staff support with teaching and coaching.
The School also hosted and organized the Bede’s Galactic Challenge for Years 6-8 and UK Space Design Challenge for Years 9-13 which involved pupils from local state schools receiving expert coaching and the opportunity to progress to the National Finals. Half of the children who attended the UK Space Design Challenge were from state schools.
Our Prep School invites local primary schools to participate in Curriculum Enhancement Days for local primary schools and hosts a DT competition.
Our aim is to be the Educational Trust of choice for parents seeking an outstanding all-round education for their children.
Mission Statement
Our aim is to be the Educational Trust of choice for parents seeking an outstanding all-round education for their children, maximising academic outcomes in relation to ability, becoming the market leader in adding value and building on our existing strengths of pastoral excellence, a strong artistic tradition and outstanding sporting provision, augmented by our warm and caring community.
Educational Strategy
Our Vision: We believe in putting the interests of our pupils first.
This strategy has at its core three objectives, which underpin our educational philosophy. The overall strategy for the Trust supports these core aims to enable us to continue delivering an exceptional and unique educational experience.
Our Objectives
In Every Bedian:
Develop wisdom and integrity
Promote courage and compassion
Cultivate ambition and curiosity
Our Approach
Seek every available opportunity to support, guide and inspire our pupils to be passionate, curious, independent, happy and ambitious, both for themselves and for others, inside and outside of the classroom.
Progress and promote each child’s unique talents through personalised, high quality academic, creative, co-curricular and sporting programmes.
Value the contribution of every individual in order that they are recognised and celebrated, and in doing so ensure that every Bedian can contribute to the collective successes both of our school and the outside world.
All businesses with more than 250 employees are required, under the Equality Act 2010 (Gender Pay Gap Information) Regulations 2017, to produce an annual Gender Pay Gap Report.
The gender pay gap is the difference between the hourly rate of pay of male employees and female employees (as set out in the regulations).
These differences have to be published on both a median basis (pay per hour based on the person 'in the middle' of the distribution of pay) and a mean basis (average hourly salary).
