Homework
Homework is an integral part of developing every child and ensuring that they reach their academic potential.
The purpose of Homework is:
-
To consolidate and reinforce skills and understanding.
-
To extend learning.
-
To encourage children to develop the confidence and self-discipline to work on their own.
-
To develop time management skills.
Pupils in Year 5 to 8 are set Homework tasks by their teachers. This additional work helps to ensure that all children are fully supported in progressing towards their targets and to consolidate their learning.
Homework will be set in accordance with the published Homework timetable for each of the respective year groups. This can be found in your child’s Form google classroom. Homework tasks will be posted in Google Classroom.
Amount of Homework
Homework will be typically a task, activity or project and will be in proportion to the amount of Curriculum time allocated per subject. Children will have at least a week to complete their Homework to the best of their ability and in some cases this may vary, for example, if it is a project for the term.
