Facilities
Boarding
Our boarding house at Meads End provides the perfect setting for pupils to take advantage of the activities and facilities on offer at Bede’s Prep School as well as its wonderful seafront location.
We offer full, weekly or flexi boarding options and a number of our day pupils opt to board as they grow older in order to build more time into their school week in which to participate in sports and other activities and spend more time with their friends.
Our international boarders join us for short stays of one or two terms through to longer stays of a year and as the perfect preparation for boarding at the Senior School. We offer a full programme of weekend activities for all full boarders.
Classroom
Bede’s Prep offers wonderful academic facilities for its pupils including seafront classrooms, science laboratories, a cookery centre and spacious artroom. Pupils in the Prep School benefit from subject specific teaching from a young age which ensures that teaching is genuinely innovative, memorable and personal to each pupil.
At Bede’s we provide a programme of academically focussed trips to places of interest across the UK and Europe. We are also fortunate to have some of Sussex’s most beautiful scenery on our doorstep which provide us with rich learning opportunities close to home.
Sport
Few Prep Schools can offer the calibre of coaching found at Bede’s Prep School with its expansive training and fixtures programme. Bede’s has a large sports hall of its own which facilitates year round training in core sports as well as activities including trampolining and climbing. Bede’s Prep pupils also make regular use of the facilities and coaches at Bede’s Senior School which ensures a seamless pathway for children of all ability levels.
The Astro in the heart of the school not only provides a high quality surface for sports but also provides the perfect environment for pupils to play year-round. In addition Bede’s pupils are lucky enough to play games at The Hollow, nearby which with its clifftop location, must be one of the most stunning sports fields in the country.
Children from Reception through to Year 6 enjoy weekly Swimming classes, with Years 7 and 8 swimming on a fortnightly timetable. In addition to our curricular swimming, we offer five swimming squad training sessions and activities such as kayaking, diving, lifesaving, snorkelling and water polo.
