On the first Saturday of term, the Bede’s community gathered in the sunshine to celebrate Bede’s Fest. Following the day, the Trust has donated proceeds from the afternoon totalling nearly £2,000 to the Bede’s Foundation in support of transformational bursaries. We would like to thank all those who attended for the support they have given to the Bede’s Foundation by coming along and enjoying the day with us.
Bede's Senior School is an independent, co-educational school located in the heart of the Sussex countryside. We offer education from the age of 13 to 18 years old.
Every child is unique, each possessing hidden talents which wait like treasure longing to be unearthed.
At Bede's, we foster a community of discovery which encourages every individual to find and develop these passions, seek new horizons, develop lasting friendships and achieve their potential.

This week, the English department launches their first writing competition of the year: the First Year Exploration Writing Prize.
Now in its sixth year, this competition allows students to write a piece of descriptive travel or exploration writing inspired by a theme; this year’s theme is ‘witness’. Pupils can interpret this phrase in any way they wish, and teachers will be helping pupils to develop their own unique take on this topic.
Simon Smith, who joined the Board earlier in the year, will be running with a record 50,000 other brave souls from Blackheath to the Mall.
The DofE Gold Team headed to the Peak District National Park this weekend (10-12th September), to undertake Wild Country expedition training. All the team worked exceptionally well throughout the weekend, from working together to prepare team (including the staff) meals, taking responsibility for a mountain bothy, as well as providing evening entertainment in the form of a selection of board and card games.
