Our BTEC dance programmes excel by blending professional vocational training with rigorous academic study, resulting in an impressive 90% of pupils achieving Distinction or Distinction* (A*–B equivalents).

For our GCSE pupils, the Level 2 course develops essential performance and choreographic skills, while for our A Level pupils, the Level 3 programme offers a dynamic pathway that prepares pupils for prestigious conservatoires for further training in the performing arts industry. By integrating theory with elite technical practice, we ensure every dancer reaches their full intellectual and creative potential.

The Legat Dance Academy offers a professional, intensive co-curricular programme that seamlessly integrates with academic life. Dancers receive up to 15 hours of specialist weekly training in Ballet, Contemporary, and Jazz, supplemented by Strength and Conditioning and Tap. Unique opportunities include masterclasses from West End professionals, participation in the world-renowned Move It Dance Convention, and starring roles in the school's signature Cabaret and annual Dance Showcase. This vocational environment ensures pupils develop industry-standard technique while pursuing their studies in a nurturing, high-performance community.

Bede’s dancers enjoy a professional performance calendar that builds confidence and stagecraft. Highlights include the spectacular Cabaret, where dancers perform alongside a live band in a gala dinner setting, and the School Musical, both high-production collaborations with the Drama and Music departments. Students compete in the prestigious Legat Solo Awards and showcase their talent at Move It, the UK's largest dance convention. Academic progress is celebrated during the BTEC Showcase, while the year culminates in the June Summer Show, a full-scale production at a professional theatre that brings the entire Legat Dance Academy programmes together.
