Day Houses
At Bede’s, day houses act as a physical and emotional home base during the school day.
Day houses are designed to match the sense of belonging, support, and community found in the boarding houses - the only difference is you don't sleep there! They are a "school within a school" where everyone very quickly will know your name.
Layout & Spaces
Each of the five day houses - Deis, Dicker and Knights (for boys) and Bloomsbury and Charleston (for the girls) - is a dedicated physical building on the campus featuring:
Dedicated Year-Group Rooms:
Houses are zoned into specific social and study rooms. Younger pupils share common areas with relaxed seating, while Sixth Form rooms feature a mix of study desks for free periods and social space.
Personal Space:
Every pupil is assigned a personal locker and desk space to store books, sport kit, and personal belongings throughout the day.
Central Social Hubs:
Pupils return to their house during registration, break times, and lunch to catch up with friends across different year groups, play pool/table tennis, or relax.
