Legat Associates Programmes

Opportunities for all dancers between the ages of 7-17...

We offer our ‘Legat Associate Programme’ for dancers between the ages of 10-17 and a 'Pre-Associate Programme' for dancers between the ages of 7-9. Both our associates' programmes run from the beautiful studios at Legat Dance Academy.

Both programmes offer high quality training in Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz/Musical Theatre with industry professionals throughout the term leading to a showcase at the end of the year. The students will also work with professional guest teachers and attend trips to see live performances.

Ballet classes will incorporate: technique, pointe work (for those studying at this level) repertoire and pbt. 

Contemporary classes will see the students studying Graham and Cunningham styles as well as creative and improvisation. 

Jazz/ Musical Theatre classes will be about working on the jazz technique whilst exploring musical theatre shows and developing routines from them.

The aim is to support talented students looking to pursue a career in the performing arts who wish to have additional training alongside their current dance school. The classes are non-syllabus based with an emphasis on challenging the students in a nurturing and professional environment and deepening their passion and enjoyment for dance.

Classes are on Saturdays throughout the term and are open to any pre-vocational and vocational dancers from the local area between the ages of 7-17 years old.

Entry is via audition through a taster day and an application of interest should be made at legat@bedes.org where the panel of Associate teachers will assess the candidate’s suitability.
