Children Raise £200 for Age UK at FOBP Charity Ice Lolly Sale
Samantha Williams, Friends of Bede's Prep Chair

On Tuesday 15 September, The Friends of Bede's Prep (FOBP) organised an ice lolly sale at school and raised an amazing £200 for Age UK.

The children enthusiastically supported the event, staying in their 'bubbles' and donating much-needed funds.

The funds raised will go towards supporting elderly members of the local community who may be feeling lonely and isolated.

Mr Mark Hammond, Headmaster at Bede’s Prep, comments, “To have raised £200 for such an important cause is a fantastic achievement, and my wholehearted thanks go to the Friends of Bede’s Prep for organising the event and our pupils and families for giving so generously.

"As well as providing vital funds for Age UK at a time when it is needed more than ever, charity events such as these teach pupils of all age groups about the importance of community and helping those in need," Mr Hammond continues. "We look forward to hosting many more charity events throughout the school year.”

We are looking for volunteers! For more information about the Friends of Bede's Prep and to join us, please email FOBP Chair Samantha Williams at
