We were delighted to welcome Dr Glenn Hurst from the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence at the University of York for an inspiring online talk. Dr Hurst delivered a hugely engaging exploration of his work to a range of students from First Year all the way to our Upper Sixth.
The seminar gave us a unique insight into how we can use Chemistry in a practical way to challenge the status quo and enable a brighter future for future generations. By showcasing his projects on using waste materials to create green solutions, Dr Hurst inspires future generations of scientists to develop creative thinking skills and visualize a better world for the future.
Dr Hurst's creative thinking and collaboration with his students is not limited to the practical aspect of Chemistry, but also involves the development of games for learning and support through social media and much more.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Dr Hurst for delivering such a fantastic talk to our Chemistry students. They all found the subjects discussed fascinating, and are now inspired to work towards a greener future in their future STEM studies and careers.
