Competitive Sports

Golf training runs during all Activity sessions across the school year.  Our golfers train at the nearby East Sussex National Golf Course where players can also access professional coaching and we enter teams into the main County and National competitions. 

For over 25 years, Bede's has enjoyed a happy association with equestrian pursuits.

In that time, our elite Equestrian Team has celebrated great success in County and National competitions – including the NSEA Championships and British Riding Club Championships – with some pupils selected to represent National teams.

Our Equestrian Team has access to regular expert training sessions at the Golden Cross Equestrian Centre and The Meadows Equestrian Centre in nearby Hailsham, with the opportunity to compete in top Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country competitions.

Please note that to join our elite Equestrian Team, pupils must have access to their own horse and the means of transport to training and competitions. Any pupil who would like to join the Equestrian Team is encouraged to contact Katy McKeogh, Equestrian Team Manager, on Katy.McKeogh@bedes.org.

For those pupils wishing to take part in riding and horse care on a recreational level, Bede’s offers riding at The Meadows Equestrian Centre as an activity in our extensive Co-Curricular Programme.

Bede’s Athletics Programme runs across two Activities sessions in the Summer Term and pupils use facilities, including the running track, at nearby Eastbourne Sports Park.  Bede’s enters a team into the main County and National competitions.
