Transition

We understand that starting a new school at any age can seem a little daunting and therefore Bede’s offers a range of events which we hope will support children in their transition to Senior School.

During the Summer Term before your child is due to start at Bede’s and following confirmation of house allocations, all pupils and their parents are invited in for a Welcome Event.

The event is usually held on a Sunday and families will have the opportunity to meet with house staff and spend some time in their child’s house. Your child will also have the opportunity to meet other pupils who are joining the Sixth Form as well as House Prefects. 

There are also presentations regarding academic and pastoral expectations from Bede’s Sixth Form team.

Should you have any concerns or queries regarding the academic programme that you or your child are considering or wish to consider other options other than those which were discussed at interview and confirmed in the offer letter, then this is an excellent time to talk to our Sixth Form team. 

The Sixth Form team will also be available by telephone on GCSE results day should you have questions at this point in the process. There is also a Headmaster’s Welcome the day prior to term starting and this provides a further opportunity to meet with your child’s tutor and other house staff.
