Bede’s is recognised for both the strength and depth of its Sport Programme and nowhere is this more evident than at senior level.

Over the years, Bede’s has earned an enviable reputation for its elite sports provision but this is matched by our dedication to driving participation in sport across all ages. In our Core Sports in particular, we work hard to ensure that everyone who wants to play and compete for their school is able to do so.

For some senior students who have grown up through the junior ranks, these years can be the pinnacle of their sporting life, providing the opportunity to become the captains and leaders to whom younger pupils can aspire.

Teams are often enriched by new students who have joined the School, bringing with them, new skills, experience and impetus to teams as they embark on their senior fixtures programme.

For those students looking to pursue sport professionally, we offer extensive support in pursuing places at U18 national sports camps and preparation for scholarship applications to US universities.

Finally, the role of sport during these years can also be about the pure pleasure of exercise and competition, providing a dedicated time away from the pressures of academic studies which has demonstrable benefits for wellbeing during these important years.

In short, whatever the sport or the team, the opportunities provided by the Sports Programme at Bede’s during the Sixth Form can provide fulfilment, achievement and memories which will last a lifetime.
