Years 7 to 9
From September 2027, Years 7 and 8 will move from our Prep School to form the junior years within our new Upper School at Eastbourne, offering a seamless transition through to the GCSE year groups of 10 an 11.

Why These Years Matter
Years 7 to 9 in the UK, collectively known as Key Stage 3, mark the vital transition from primary school to secondary education. Typically covering ages 11 to 14, these years are far more than just a bridge to GCSEs; they are a critical formative period for academic and personal growth.
Academic Breadth:
KS3 offers the most diverse curriculum a student will encounter. Pupils explore a wide array of subjects - from the sciences and humanities to modern languages and the arts - before narrowing their focus for exam courses.
Skill Development:
This stage builds the foundational critical thinking, independent study habits and analytical skills required for future academic success.
Personal Growth:
The Upper School environment encourages pupils to develop independence, resilience and social development.
Ultimately, Years 7 to 9 provide the essential safety net where students can experiment, discover their strengths, and build the confidence needed to make informed choices about their GCSE options. It is during these years that the mindset for lifelong learning is truly forged.
